I've been a loyal Rutan Refrigeration customer for over 10 years, since they replaced my condenser unit. Service has varied a bit depending on the technician over the years, but today's visit with Johnzen was outstanding.
My central air had stopped cooling properly, and Johmzrn came out to troubleshoot. His attention to detail was incredible — you could tell he genuinely cares about his work. He spent real time diagnosing the system, both in the attic and at the condenser, and when he wrapped up, he walked us through everything he found. It's clear this isn't just a job for him; he loves what he does. His customer service was polite, caring, and friendly the whole time.
A follow-up visit is scheduled once a part comes in, and I've already asked Sarah, the owner, to send Johnzen back out. She's also been fantastic throughout this whole process. Highly recommend this team!

Previous Review:
I have been using this company since they replaced our central air unit 3 years ago. Our home owners warranty set everything up with this specific company. A few days after a technician came to conduct my annual service I received a call from Susan the general manager. We discussed the work that the technician had conducted on our central air unit and Susan felt comfortable with scheduling a follow up appointment just to make sure everything is running properly. After speaking with Susan I agreed to the appointment. Here is my honest feedback. I haven't experienced a business owner who cares so much about customers service/experience To. To have the general manager personally follow up with me throughout the years of service is a blessing. I decided today that I will continue to use her company for my annual cleaning and maintenance and whatever else happens along the way. Susan, I pray that God will send more people to you. Both dependable and honest workers and customers to large in numbers. May He bless you with abundance in His name.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Rutan has been a trusted provider to our Makakilo home since 2020. I like that they are local to the west side, in Kapolei. They’ve installed 2 central AC units and have serviced all of my units. They are usually able to work in routine service in a week and urgent service in just a day or two. I like that they are very proactive in advising of HECO rebate programs and helped me claim them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 18 yr old WSHP A/C was dead, and I was thinking of a costly replacement. Rutan sent technician quickly, and after a good check, a replacement of capacitor fixed it. They are professional and honest company, with a real back office support. Highly recommend!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Rutan is one of the contractors that American Homeshield selects to work on my AC. They do such an OUTSTANDING JOB that I only request for them to work on my AC instead of randomly selecting contractors. I've also called them directly to work on my AC, and they've definitely addressed all my AC issues that need to be fixed. I'd recommend them to anyone having AC issues.

We have been working with Rutan Refrigeration for many years. They are friendly, courteous and thorough. They installed in 2021 a new, larger HVAC unit for our home. We regularly schedule maintenance with them. Service personel are alway polite.

We’ve used a lot of AC companies on Oahu and Rutan is the best overall we’ve used. We have a pretty advanced new AC system at home which is most often used in commercial installations and they can handle its unique challenges.

Great service done by changing the insulation AC today by Nate. Maintenance performed by Ryan and an apprentice, which I can’t remember the name. Overall, I was satisfied with the value, service and workmanship. Highly recommended!

Ryan Jahansooz, Rutan Refrigeration & AC is an absolutely fantastic professional problem resolver while at the same time he is the consummate professional. We were blessed to have him come to our home, diagnose our AC problem, then resolve it. Big Shout Out for Ryan and Rutan. Tom Driskill

The tech was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information after he was done cleaning and clearing the pipes from the sludge. He took pictures and explained what was going on with the a/c system that was causing the issue. I would recommend them to family and friends when they need help with their a/c issues.
